RELIQUARIES
Reliquaries are used for keeping or exhibiting a relic. The reliquary series reflect my interest in the environment. They hold objects found along my journey in life. Many of the objects show the beauty of natural forms in nature, others are sculptural.
The viewer is invited to interact with the sculpture. By opening the doors, the viewer participates and explores in the journey, invoking a similar reaction of discovery to that of mine. Some doors were created by combining the work of local artisans of Cameroon, Brazil, Papua New Guinea, and Peru with mine, thereby entwining my spirit and energy with that of the place and the indigenous people.
